vRealize Network Insight, Log Insight and Operations

I have been playing around a bit with vRealize Operations Manager and Log Insight for a while in a customer project and I have been wanting to do a little more with it. In the project we are still stuck with an older version due to the version of VVD used (VMware Validated Designs). However it does not make much sense for me to start with that version when there are 3 newer versions out there. So I wanted to go through vROps and vRLI for a few blog posts to cover the installation and at least basic configuration. As usual the idea is to put me in a position to have something more advanced to share later.

So I cover two products at the moment under this part because they both come under monitoring and keeping your eyes on the environment so it made sense for me to include both. First the installation of the products and then starting to adapt them to the SDDC that I have going and cover topics that we come across, and as we go along.

The idea is to deploy a Data cluster for vROps in one site, a remote collector in the second site, an application RC per site, and deploy a Log Insight server per Site. Then integrate the two, vROps should be expanded and I will show that also in a post below in what ways this can be done. I will show also the difference between the Express and Normal installation of vROps. So lets get started.

Since I got started on setting up NSX-T also for my environment I decided to further expand this part of the blog and include vRealize Network Insight with some topics below also. The setup will consist of one Platform node and two remote collectors and will of course be integrated into vROps and vRLI as I go along.
